The Government of India regulates entry into the state of Arunachal Pradesh. This is due to the state's proximity to China, and to keep the rich cultural and natural diversity of the state unexploited.

We at Greener Pastures arrange for permits for all our guests to our tours at a charge of Rs.500/- for Indians and $50 for Foreigners. But if you plan to obtain the permit yourself, the following information will be of help.

Indians from all other states need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to visit Arunachal Pradesh. This can be obtained from any Government of Arunachal Pradesh offices located throughout India. The application form can be downloaded here.

All foreigners require a Protected Area Permit (PAP) to visit Arunachal Pradesh. It is given to groups of 2 or more persons. The maximum duration for a single permit is 30 days, and the cost per person is $50. The best way to obtain a PAP is through a travel agent or tour operator, as applying through government offices is often unfruitful. The application form can be downloaded here.
